Graphical installation mode

In graphical mode, when installing the OS on the computer's hard disk partitions, the user is prompted to set the settings, confirm the installation, and if the installation was successful, run the installed OS for the first time.

OS Usage Agreement

After selecting a graphical installation, a page will appear on the monitor screen «License» with the OS logo at the top and a drop-down list «Installer language» to set the interface language.

The page contains the text of the license under which the installed OS is delivered. To continue setup you should set the flag «I accept the license agreement terms» and click [Next].

Setting OS parameter values

After signing the agreement, a page opens for setting the parameter values.

For each of the suggested settings, set a new value or accept the default value.

Regional Settings

In point «Layout switching» use the drop-down list to set the way to switch the keyboard between the national keyboard layout and the standard Latin keyboard layout.

In point «Time zone» set the time zone from the drop-down list.

In point «System language» select the system language from the drop-down list.

Authorization Settings

In point «Hostname» enter the name of the computer in the line. A computer name is a single word that identifies a system on the network.

In point «Administrator username» enter the name of the administrator account in the line. The administrator account must start with a lowercase Latin letter, which can be followed by any number of lowercase Latin letters or numbers.

In point «Password» enter a sequence of letters, numbers, and signs in the string, with a total number of at least eight.

In point «Confirm password» you should re-enter the password in the line to verify the correctness of the input by comparing the results.

OS components

List of software packages.

The necessary software packages should be checked. During installation, software packages from the selected software suites will be installed.

Additional settings

A list of additional OS settings. The suggested advanced settings allow you to set OS security settings and disable automatic network configuration.

In the list, select the necessary additional settings. When installing the OS, the selected additional settings will be taken into account.

Disk layout

The [Edit Layout] button opens the window «Disk Layout Settings» to set the disk layout scheme. The actual disk layout is performed during the OS installation phase.

The drop-down list «Disk Partitioning Config» allows you to select a disk layout template. Pattern «Custom template» allows you to display all available devices and make disk partitioning in the widget, displayed after clicking on the [Show details] button.

The following drop-down list, with a list of available disks in the system, allows you to select the disk on which the operating system will be installed.

The [Show Details] button opens additional disk layout controls. The «Use GPT partition table» checkbox allows you to use the GPT disk partition table instead of the standard MSDOS. Below is a widget for displaying and editing the selected configuration.

Reboot computer after installation is complete

Checkbox «Reboot computer after installation is complete» restarts the computer after performing a successful installation.

Installing the OS

The [Install] button starts the installation process. The system warns that all data on the devices specified when configuring disk partitioning will be deleted and asks you to confirm. Click [Yes]. After that, the window closes. The OS will be installed based on the selected settings. If you click the [Cancel] button, the window closes, the installation The OS is not running.

After starting the OS installation, the OS installation progress indicator will appear. [Open Log] button - the log page is displayed installations with error messages and execution protocol. [Close Log] - returns to the previous page. The log entries are output to a file /var/log/astra-installer.log. After installing the OS, this file is copied to the /var/log/astra-installer.log file on the new system.

After successful completion of the installation, if the automatic restart is set, the computer reboots. If automatic restart is not installed, then after the installation is successfully completed, the the page displays a message about the successful installation and the installation time, and prompts you to run the installed OS for the first time. The [Finish] button is activated and the computer restarts.
